So I was showing off the lovely 60s Seiko I just got in the post which I need to restore to health (price: £25) when my friend's partner said: I've got a watch I need to sort out .Not sure how Patek’s screw down works, but all other major Mfgs screw down crowns include the sealing surface. I purchased a vintage piece from a reputable dealer but found there to be a large amount of condensation under the crystal that comes and goes with temperature changes. Almost nobody will warranty water damage in the event of failure unless you can prove that the watch build/manufacture was defective. Warranties are for manufacturing defects, not damage - unless it is caused by that defect.
